A Hârn PBeM Game

The corridor comes to an end. Two burning torches reveal the grey stone walls and the formidable door that blocks the way forward. If barred or bolted, such a portal could withstand even determined assault for a time. But the door is neither locked nor barred, and it opens quietly onto darkness. The light of the torches barely penetrates the doorway, and nothing revealing can be seen. Even eyes accustomed to the dark can make out little, except that this is a large room, a hall of some fashion. The door back to the corridor is now closed.

Light suddenly flares up, flames from braziers striking up towards the high ceiling. At the end of the hall, a great throne sits upon a dais. Below and on either side a figure stands, garbed in red robes. Hoods cover their heads and faces, the eyeholes opening only onto darkness. And above the massive stone chair a large banner is unfurled: a gold moon set amidst a field of blood red.


Introduction

Beneath the Golden Moon is a play by email (PBeM) game set in Columbia Games' fantasy setting Hârn. The players of this game each control a single character in this fictional world. The focus of the game is the keep of Menekod, in the kingdom of Kanday, but within this context the players are free to have their characters follow their own goals. In any event, interaction with other characters is the mainstay of the game, rather than action, and so intrigue of various sorts will probably form a significant part of the game.

Special Announcement

Okay, I'm not in the country from September 1 to February 17, and I may not have an account much longer after that. So, I'm making all the information that I've written for this PBeM (on the computer, that is), available to everyone. I hope that some of you who were playing in it before I got struck with OOS are interested.

Game Details

The following documents hopefully provide some idea as to how the game works. Currently, I think they do an abysmal job; if you have any questions or confusion, please talk to me about it! That's the best way of getting me to make this better. This goes not only for details on mechanics etc but anything related to the game.

World Background

For the most part, I am using the official material detailing Menekod. It is assumed that all the players have the official material published in the Kingdom of Kanday module. If this is not the case, please contact me.

Restricted Information

This is all the stuff that wasn't publically available before. Be warned, that if you expect to find lots of wizzy secret material showing how deviously clever I am, you'll be massively disappointed. Like just about everything I do, most of it is incredibly incomplete, and therefore frustrating to read.
