The Corani Tribunal is one of the three Tribunals of Hârn, and covers all the chantries of western Hârn. As of 28 Nolus 706 (the date of the Saga's start) there are six chantries in the Tribunal: Amakt, Galyodyn, Grynglamor, Kasael, Raymeinar, and Talmirata. Gorahnu Chantry has not yet been recognised by the Tribunal.
The pre-eminence of Melderyn as a place of magical learning, and its closeness to the mainland of Lythia, means that the two Tribunals in eastern Hârn (the Melderyn Tribunal and the Northern Tribunal) are considerably more powerful and influential than the Corani Tribunal. The influence of the Melderyn Tribunal on the chantries of western Hârn is, however, subtle; direct interference is unheard of.
The Corani Tribunal holds a Tribunal every seven years, as is the custom elsewhere. A Tribunal (in the sense of a council of Shek-Pvar) is defined as a gathering of at least twelve magi representing at least four chantries, with a member of the Order of the White Hand presiding over the votes. These Tribunals are, in the Corani Tribunal, always held at Grynglamor Chantry, at Shostim in the Kingdom of Rethem, and the Praeco (presiding Shek-Pvar) is the oldest mage from that Chantry. The reason behind this unusual state of affairs may be known to some, but is not discussed.
Amekt is an isolated chantry on the eastern shore of Lake Benath, and is the only chantry in the Corani Tribunal which is not within the borders of one of the civilised nations. The members are largely concerned with investigating an ancient, perhaps magical, site that is nearby.
This chantry in central Kanday is largely composed of Jmorvi Shek-Pvar.
Grynglamor is the home of the councils for the Corani Tribunal. These Tribunal meetings are held in a large building within the town of Shostim, the seat of the King of Rethem.
The oldest chantry in western Hârn, Kasael lies near Telen in the Thardic Republic. Viran Alorand is a member of the Order of the White Hand, and presides over the voting at Tribunals.
A chantry in the Republic of Tharda. All the Shek-Pvar are old, and no new Shenava have been accepted in years.
All the members of this Kandayan chantry, including the grogs and companions, are Laranians. The Shek-Pvar here have the closest relations with the mundane world of any of the Corani chantries.
