Beneath the Golden Moon

The People at Menekod

This document is an index to the people at Menekod - that is, the characters in the game. Each character has his or her own document, detailing what is public knowledge about the individual. In general this is the perspective of the Meken, who form the bulk of those at Menekod. It should be remembered that although there can be large differences in rank and status between different characters, they all live in the same castle, and often rub shoulders. For example, most people take meals together, Meken and Melana, with servants attending the Chabla and Deputy Chabla.

Nicknames: Please give some thought to a possible nickname for your character (at least if your character is a Meken (any rank) or a Melana). If you like, make up a story of the origin of this name. It would also be much appreciated if Meken and Melana characters could think up some incident for their character in which they screwed up/did something embarassing, or what have you. This sort of thing, which doesn't need to be anything major, can help round-out a character.

A note on names: I have used names from the Hârn Names list by picking those which I liked, without too much regard for region and so forth (though they are all listed as Hârnic names). This will mean that you might well recognise lots of the clan names, and associate them with families anywhere on Hârn. In just about every case there will be no connection between the characters in this game and characters mentioned in the official material. It is probably best to assume that there isn't any connection, as I doubt this will have much significance in the game.

A note on "friends and associates": Please read the final section in the Life at Menekod document - it in essence says that everyone knows everyone at Menekod, and there is a certain amount of mingling between even the highest and the lowest people. Please take this into account when considering how and with whom your character interacts. No one at Menekod is an entirely distant figure (though some might wish a few were more so!).
