HRT : Peoni : Sister Gwendilf's Teachings

Where does the world come from?

After the First Gods had gone, the divinities we worship took their places in the struggle they are still fighting. Our Beloved Goddess had mercy for the creatures living on our world and She created plants they could eat when meat would fail, other plants to heal and lastly flowers to bring joy and beauty. Peoni also tought us to love others and to forgive.

Where did I come from?

We are Peoni's children, Benefactor Mother, who in her kindness blessed us by bringing us the lore of medicine and craft of farming.

Why am I here?

To protect living creatures from themselves, to provide advice and healing and to teach that there is more courage in admiting one's own faults and living weaponless than in putting every living being to the sword.

What happens after we die?

Those who lived in Peoni's faith will live forever in the green meadows of Valon, holy ground where conflicts and pains are proscribed.

What are the other Gods, what is the truth?

Agrik

Like his followers, Agrik thinks to destroy for his own pleasure only. There can be no agreement with this divinity or his believers. But our sweet Goddess, having herself forgiven the outrage that gave birth to Valamin, presents an example we must follow.

Halea

This Goddess, at first only the merchants' patroness, became lax and lustful. Even if we tolerate and forgive these lapses of conduct, we must not get lured on this path. Love is the noble feeling and cannot be brought into disrepute. Our Goddess herself loved and gave birth to children, showing the greatness of her love.

Ilvir

He was our Goddess' spouse. Though we understand his creating living beings, we keep clear of his bloodthirsty monsters.

Larani

Daughter of Our beloved Godess and Ilvir, we respect her pure heart and her deep sense of justice, but we disaproove her intransigence and lust for battle.

Morgath

We can only suffer the presence of this god's followers, who corrupt living beings and reanimate dead ones to enslave them.

Naveh

Peoni, in her great kindness, forgive the servants of this murderers' god!

Save-K'nor

We pity those believers who spend their time hoarding lores for their own chosen few exclusive profit, denying others the benefit of Knowledge.

Sarajin

Only death on the battlefield may open Talagaad's gates to Sarajin believers. We often struggle in vain to make those fools understand, healing at least their wounds, that life is more precious than a so-called glorious death.

Siem

We hope the day shall come when this god's servants understand that Peoni's followers are not their foes but their allies in the quest for wisdom and protection of Nature.
