Even before being appointed to the office of Rekela of Ternula diocese, Carlen Milaka (and, indeed, his uncle Ranald) had struck upon the idea of building a cathedral to grace the Sarkum region. When the promotion to Rekela came in 1316 Carlen was ready to immediately begin full preparations for the task. With the financial backing of clan Milaka to supplement that of the Church and royal patronage (that is, money from the royal treasury, as opposed to the personal coffers of King Andasin IV, himself a Milaka), Carlen could afford to at least begin one of the most ambitious building projects on Hârn. A master mason from the continent was hired to oversee construction, and to ensure that all of the latest architectural developments were included. For the most part this means the use of flying buttresses and a large domed central roof (à la Thardic Senate House), though no doubt as construction progresses smaller, but no less innovative, details will become apparent in the mason's design.
The columns and vaults are explicitly carved to look like trees (Kalamin trees), down to plans for individual leafs to be carved on the vaults. The central dome will be painted with some great scene; however, despite plans to have torches lit around the base of the dome, it seems very unlikely that there will be sufficient light to properly illuminate this artwork.
Every window in the cathedral is to be made of stained glass. There are a single row of tall, thin rectangular windows along the main hall (placed between the buttresses, and none on the right side opposite the bell tower). At each end of the wide bit are two rows of three windows (actually, on the left the top row is one large window). Around the curve is a single row, high up, with the central figure larger. Beneath the windows around the 'bay' are bas-relief sculptures of other figures (saints), each set within a pointed arch.
The cathedral has a circular altar table, on which various sacramental items are placed. Cathedral aligned north (entrance) to south (dome). The bay glass windows show Peoni with the child Larani on her knee; Larani asleep on Athalatta, Dolithor growing around her; Larani (in transparent (normal) glass) confronting the giant Orsha (whose blinded eyes are also of normal glass); creation of Ahnu; fighting Agrik, cutting his claw; Larani, poisoned, going into the sun (or pure coming out). The central, larger window may simply be Larani standing straight, dressed appropriately (with Avarkiel and Hyvrik?).
Inscription in ante-chamber reads: "Go now before the Goddess here / For this also is her home / And nothing of evil shall befall". These are the words of Ael Mane to King Korgin (Trierzon region - mountain range bears his name).
