Robert shows the first results of his video-camera investigation into the patterns on the inside of the walls of Waldren House. Lady Catherine doesn't know what to make of them, and everything becomes more unclear when Slim points out that the walls move.
Richard and Robert team up in order to deal with the man stalking Marianne. After hatching a scheme in front of Lady Catherine, and barely avoiding her ire, they put the plan into action, with considerable success, resulting in the man being arrested.
On returning to Waldren House, Robert and Richard are present when the police arrive asking questions in relation to the kidnapping of a baby in the area. To Lady Catherine's surprise and displeasure, the two respond to the officer's enquiries by providing a description of Slim as a possible suspect, for no apparent reason. When he learns of this from the Lady, however, Slim seems unconcerned.
Nirumpam visits his parents' store and investigates the strange room in the back. He discovers that it is in fact a small freehold, which is no minor matter!
Later Lady Catherine is visited by Wallace and Margaret, a Troll and Eshu respectively, who ask that the Lady provide protection for their fledge, Jack the Troll, while the two go on an unspecified journey. Lady Catherine accepts this new charge.
There then followed an occasionally lethargic conversation, covering the history of the house, Lady Catherine's Sain Day Anniversary (to be held in two weeks), and forgotten pasts.
