Lady Catherine returns home with Jacoby from a gallery opening up north, and learns that the Quilt is now within Waldren House. Much planning goes on about how to find and deal with the Quilt. A normal quilt is spoken with, but proves of only small assistance. There is also discussion of the green vase on the mantelpiece of the Hearthroom. It is also decided that Nirumpam shall be mentored to Lady Catherine.
As part of the search for the Quilt, Lady Catherine, Stig, Jacoby and Slim ascend to the attic, which Lady Catherine talks with. It is learnt that the Quilt had been there, but is no longer, and they leave, with the exception of Slim, who remains behind in the attic.
