Martin's Welcome Home Party

It is now some weeks after Samhain, and Robert is concerned about what he remembers of his strange journey through a secret door and corridor in Waldren House. With the help of Nirumpam and Lady Catherine, it seems conclusively established that there can be no such corridor in the normal layout of the house, but they search regardless. Jellybean, in cat form, joins them and scurries about behind the Balefire, before dropping them an invitation to Martin's welcome home party. Then, while the others were busy talking amongst themselves, she found something interesting in a piece of wall, and started scratching and headbutting it. When the others, except for Slim, who had been attracted by all the noise, ignored her completely, she went off in a sulk.

While Robert went about the job of getting a metal detector, Lady Catherine decided to approach the matter in a different fashion, and used her Glamour to speak with the walls. This was singularly unhelpful until she was pointed to the area of wall JayB had found so fascinating. The wall there confided that it was always a wall, except when it wasn't, and that it hadn't been a wall on a number of occasions, always at night. Getting nothing more out of it, Lady Catherine left it for the time being, knowing she could come back later to resume questioning.

It was then time for Martin's party. Jellybean, Lady Catherine and Jacoby went together, driven there in a limousine Jellybean had "hired", after she had coerced Jacoby into coming. Stig, Robert and Nirumpam also went, though separately. At the party they all met Martin and Anna, his new friend, and Lady Catherine was carelessly introduced with her title... [I have no idea what happened at the party at this stage - someone please tell me.]

This is all too confusing. :) Body, Sidhe, Troll, monster, fight, Anna abducted and rescued by Stig, Martin disappearing, JayB's ball being thrown out the window... Whew.

The party was in full swing when it was disrupted by a grisly sight. A malformed Troll burst into Martin's apartment, and dropped the bloody mess of a human body on the floor, crying out, "She's dead!" This caused an ever increasing panic as more and more people realised that it was indeed a brutally murdered woman lying on the floor. People screamed, milled about, headed for the door, and got in each other's way.

Accompanying the Troll was a masked Sidhe...

With Anna in their grasp, the Troll and the Sidhe left the apartment, as an avian monster emerged from another room. As the only capable people left in the room, Lady Catherine, Jacoby and Robert were forced to deal with this latest problem. Lady Catherine used her magic to encase the creature in a cage of thorns, buying Robert time to start rigging up a creation of his own with the sound system. Neither Lady Catherine nor Jacoby were armed, and Lady Catherine resorted to poking the creature - who was rapidly shredding its prison - with a metal rod ripped from one of Martin's pieces of art. By the time the creature was free, Robert's Frankensteinian creation was done - a man, if such it can be called, made of amplifiers, speakers, and lots of cabling. The end result of this bizarre combat was the creature dead and no one else much the worse for wear.

Meanwhile, outside the building, Stig was in the perfect position to confront the Sidhe as he came out of the building with Anna. In a desperate bluff, Stig drew his sword to match the flaming blade of his opponent, whereupon the latter decided, in light of the fast approaching police, to make a run for it, leaving Anna behind.

It was only then that it was discovered that Martin had disappeared.
