Martin's apartment building is a run-down affair, where the lift never works and everything is dirty. Martin himself lives on the seventh floor, and Terry on the sixth. The main stairs are in the centre of the building, and on each floor the corridor runs left and right off the landing. There are fire escapes at the ends of the corridors.
